This peppers striking, deep purple, nearly black shade is beautiful. These elongated, 3 inch fruit emerge light green and quickly deveelop their dark pigment with thick walls and a pleasantly sweet flavor. Productive plants perform well and maintains its purple hue for an extended period but will eventually ripen to red.

From the small village of Ruoti in southern Italy, this heirloom was brought to the states in 1887. They look hot but aren't. Growing 20"-24", these plants produce loads of long, thin peppers, up to 10" long. The peppers are delicious and sweet.
Cook in a little olive oil, grill, fry, or chop and use raw in salsa and salads.

The perfect pickling pepper, Sweet Pickle looks as good as it tastes with colorful "Christmas tree light" fruits of yellow, orange, red, and even purple! These peppers are about 2" long, tapering to a blunt end. Thick-walled and sweet. So pretty as they ripen into warm shades in the sunny garden!

Round red pepper with sweet, delicious flesh. Eat fresh, roasted, or pickled. You could also stuff these with cream cheese. This is the type of pepper pickled in large jars in Italian delis.

Sweetie produces some of the sweetest peppers. Medium size plant produces good yields of fruit that measure approximately 4"x1.25" Sweety starts green ripening to a glossy red color and have thin crunchy walls.

These squat little sweet peppers have thick flesh and much sweetness. The plants keep producing right up until the frost and are great to eat raw, stir-fried and roasted.
Sweet frying pepper that is a traditional variety of the Basque people. This super rare and delicious pepper can be found growing across Europe’s Basque country, thin-skinned, totally sweet peppers can be ground into paprika. Excellent for fresh use, raw in salads or blistered on the grill. This particular strain was brought to Boise, Idaho, over 50 years ago by Ben Goihiadia. In the early 1900s many Basques emigrated to Idaho for sheep herding jobs, and now Boise is a “little Basque country” of sorts.

This Sweet Banana type lives up to its name as it puts out an huge harvest of peppers that measure nearly a foot long. Peppers are typically 9 to 10 inches long and 2 inches across, and turn from light yellow to orange and finally red. Sweet flavor.
One of my other favorites. Big and beautiful. They are such beautiful colors. What's not to love?
